Mr. Coffee 10 Cup Thermal Coffee Maker

This is actually the 12 cup model shown - ours has an analog clock display and only holds 10 cups.

This is actually my in-laws’ go-to coffee maker. My father-in-law lives on at least a pot of coffee a day. While he likes my Keurig, he just can’t justify the cost per k-cup for the amount of coffee he drinks – he’s definitely an entire pot of coffee guy. My in-laws’ favorite feature of the Mr. Coffee 10 Cup Thermal Coffee Maker FTTX95-1 is the metal carafe. Previous coffee makers with glass carafes always seemed to spill when pouring a cup, and they almost always ended up breaking and needing to be replaced.

The stainless steel carafe is durable, practically break-proof and makes pouring a cup of coffee an easy and relatively clean endeavor. The carafe will keep your coffee relatively warm for a few hours, but also has a feature that can reheat the liquid in the carafe – this is good for when my mother-in-law gets up early and makes a pot, but my father-in-law doesn’t drink it until later in the morning.

The water reservoir is easy to fill and easy to clean. The top flap opens up to fill both coffee and water, and the machine takes any kind of ground coffee. The machine can be programmed and set to brew at a designated time. Unfortunately, it is not easy to program. After several unsuccessful attempts, my in-laws have opted not to program it, and they just make coffee whenever they get up. Because of this, the machine sometimes beeps and turns itself on at odd times of day, but this doesn’t seem to bother them.

But in spite of that, they really, really like the Mr. Coffee. So much, in fact, that they bought a similar model for my husband’s 83-year-old grandmother, who also reportedly loves it. Overall, they highly recommend the Mr. Coffee Thermal 10 Cup Coffee Maker saying that “for what it is, it’s great”.

*Personally, I am not a fan. The coffee tastes burnt to me.

One Response to Mr. Coffee 10 Cup Thermal Coffee Maker

  1. It’s good to see the Mr. Coffee machine mentioned here. Your review pretty much sums up its best features. Although I think there are a few better ones, such as the Cuisinart thermal machine, Mr. Coffee’s offering is one of the better coffee makers.
